Short Review : Washburn PXS10FR

Now i’m going to review a guitar my bro have bought a few months ago. We got it for roughly Rp 5.000.000,00 (about $350) while on sale. It’s a Superstrat-style electric guitar that somehow produced in Indonesia.

The Good :

For that price range we got, we have a Mahogany body, maple neck with ebony fretboard, Grover tuner, Seymour Duncan Jazz Neck/Distortion Bridge, and Floyd Rose original tremolo. It makes less noise compared to my customized Ibanez GRG and suits better for some metal style. The clean tone is also decent enough albeit not in a modern clean tone way. Smooth neck sliding. Push-pull pot for better tone shaping.

The Bad :

Dot inlay that can be un-appealing to some. Can’t really say anything about the neck cutout. I think it might be hardware issue but sometimes the pickups cannot catch anything if you play around with the push-pull pot.

The Bottom Line :

We got it for $350, it’s a steal compared to it’s original $800 pricing. If you are a shredder or into metal (for the price we got) then grab this guitar. Otherwise just buy one of Ola Englund’s Solar Guitars.

Short Review : Asus A455LF

Alright, this might be my first laptop review so tell me if there’s anything wrong with it. The laptop i’ll be reviewing is an ASUS A455LF that i use everyday. I bought it for approximately Rp 4.500.000,00 (roughly US$300).

The Good :

Similar to ASUS formula, bringing entry-level laptops for competitive price and solid build quality. The specifications are also quite better than similarly priced newer laptops & used laptop of it’s era (packing a 2C/4T i5-5200U, GeForce 930M, and 4GB DDR3 RAM). RAM is easy to access.

The Bad :

Poor battery life (2-cell might be the ones to blame here). Horrible DVD-RW life (as i actually expect from many laptops, better change it to HDD caddy). HDD is harder to access than the RAM. Soldered RAM as expected. Rather small HDD size (500GB, perhaps it should’ve been 1TB).

The Bottom Line :

It’s your typical ASUS budget laptop so do your homework.

Specifications :
